Q: How many door or drawers can be connected to the Robo-Nanny?
A: One or Two.

Q: I don’t want the alarm to sound immediately after opening the door. Can I delay the alarm?
A: Yes. The Up and Down buttons allow you to adjust the delay from zero seconds (alarm sounds immediately) to 30 seconds.

Q: Will the Robo-Nanny operate correctly without the magnets installed?
A: No. The sensors work in conjunction with the magnets. When the magnetic field of the magnet is not sensed by a sensor, the Robo-Nanny will assume that the door or drawer is opened and will sound the alarm.

Q: When I shake the magnet it rattles. Is it broken?
A: No. That is simply the magnet inside the plastic case.

Q: The Robo-Nanny seems to be working sporadically. What should I do?
A: Replace the batteries if they seem to be worn down. If the batteries are good, close the doors for approximately two minutes and allow the Robo-Nanny to reset itself. If the unit still operates sporadically, open the Robo-Nanny by removing the two screws and then remove the batteries and then install them again. This will reset the Robo-Nanny. If this does not work, make sure that the Robo-Nanny did not come in contact with water or any liquids and that the operating temperature is not excessive. If the problem still persists, contact us via e-mail and tell us the problem.

Q: Can I eliminate any primary locks which I am using on the doors or drawers to which the Robo-Nanny is connected?
A: No. Although the Robo-Nanny is an extremely versatile and reliable device, it should not take the place of primary locks. It should also not give the impression that a child or pet can be purposely left alone in a room.

Q: I want to turn off the Robo-Nanny while I am cleaning out the cabinet. How can this be done.
A: There is no power button on the Robo-Nanny. This is to ensure that the device will not be turned off accidentally. Much like a smoke alarm, the batteries should be taken out of the Robo-Nanny if you need to keep the alarm from sounding, such as when cleaning with the door or drawer open.

Q: I would like to contact IDT Electronics. How can I do so?
A: You can view our website to obtain information. You can also e-mail us. Due to the large number of Robo-Nannies sold, we will be able to respond to an e-mail inquiry sooner than a phone inquiry. It is highly recommended that you e-mail us your questions, concerns or comments.
