Inter-Dimensional Technologies has recently released their latest product, the Robo-Nanny. The Robo-Nanny is a microprocessor-controlled auxiliary alarm and sensing system. It is intended for households with young children or pets. What it is: The Robo-Nanny is a small electronic device, which is controlled by a microprocessor. This device is most-commonly installed in the cabinet where the household cleaning supplies are kept. It can also be used on windows, screen doors, medicine cabinet doors, drawers, wardrobe doors, storage benches, blanket chests or any area where children or pets should not be. It’s also great for storage areas in the cellar, garage or shed, where potentially dangerous tools or harmful chemicals are often kept. What it does: The Robo-Nanny includes two sensors that can be connected to it. Each of these sensors is mounted near the door, drawer or whatever area is being monitored. These sensors allow the Robo-Nanny to know when the door or drawer is open. The Robo-Nanny sounds an internal alarm after the door or drawer has been open longer than the user-defined period. There are two buttons that are used to increase and decrease this user-defined period. This period is defined as the amount of delay from the time the door or drawer is opened to the time when the alarms sounds. This delay option is incorporated into the Robo-Nanny so that an adult can interact normally within the area without the alarm sounding. The delay is adjustable from zero seconds to thirty seconds. The default setting from the factory is seven seconds. There is no power button and the two buttons are recessed to prevent accidental tampering. How it installs: The Robo-Nanny was designed to be installed and mounted without the use of tools. (Although the case must be unscrewed to install and change the batteries.) Because the Robo-Nanny is so small and because it is powered by batteries, it can be installed almost anywhere. The Robo-Nanny is mounted with Velcro, while the sensors are mounted with adhesive tape, which is all included. That means that installation is as easy as pressing the Robo-Nanny and sensors into place. The Robo-Nanny even works with doors and drawers that may not close perfectly.
